Barnet College is a large Further Education institute in
North London with an excellent reputations and 40 years experience,
teaching English to students from around the world. The College is based
in the pleasant, residential borough of Barnet, with excellent public
transport links for quick access to the capital city’s famous West End
and many other attractions.
The new Barnet College
was created by the merger of the former Barnet and Hendon College in
August 2000. This has established what has been described as a
super-college ready to take on the biggest and best throughout the
country. The College works out of 5 centres throughout the borough of
Barnet and tends to the needs of some 25000 students. |
World Class Facilities and Students
Barnet College is already becoming renowned
for providing state-of-the art facilities and equipment often associated
with larger institutions whilst maintaining a level of support and
atmosphere for its students that is usually found in smaller colleges. As
well as providing education and training for a catchments area of some two
million people, the college also welcomes students from Europe and
throughout the world – in classrooms and as distance learners.

academic, professional, vocational and general interest courses and provides
educational and training opportunities at all levels from pre-foundation to

The College also recognizes the need for

range of part time and full programmes providing day and evening classes,
there are also the flexi study courses and weekend college.
Accommodation
The College has 64 specialists designed
study bedrooms, for students who are over 18 years old at Graseby House.
Graseby House is located in Barnet adjacent to Wood Street Centre and close
to all amenities and transport facilities. Prices vary from 64 pounds to 80
pounds per week ( excluding Laundry ). Rent is paid termly and in advance.

The College Learning Centres are
carefully designed to optimize private study as well as group sessions.
There are plenty of PC’s to work on, with access to a range of
computerized and paper based resources, staff are always on hand to
help. |

Sport Facilities
Students can enjoy superb sports facilities
at the Graham Park Centre. There are plenty of arranged activities and drop
in times for students to make use of the facilities at their convenience.
The multi-use sports hall is ideal for a
range of activities and exercise classes.
The Fitness room is equipped with a variety
of resistance and cardiovascular machines to suit most needs. Students
wishing to use the equipment must complete an induction course and there is
always a member of staff on hand for help and advice.
The Swimming Pool is 20 metres long and
regular drop in times and activities are scheduled. The pool is supervised
by a qualified lifeguard. A facility includes showers and changing areas.

Partnership (HETP)
Barnet College is an active member of the
HETP which was launched in 1998. The HETP is a collaboration of five
educational institutions:-

Barnet College offers you
- English as a Foreign Language (EFL) from
Elementary to proficiency levels.
- A special programme of English &
Vocational Studies for International Students (EVSIS) which allows
students to combine the EFL course with training for a career in business
or travel and tourism.
