Before traveling to the UK,
foreign students are advised to contact their nearest British High
Commission or British Embassy/ Consulate to find out if they require a
student visa before entering the UK and for official advice on British
immigration rules.
Student Visas can be
obtained from the offices of the British High Commission in Delhi and the
British Deputy High Commissions in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Students
need to prove that they have an unconditional offer on a full time, proof of
accommodation, sufficient funds to cover the entire cost of studying and
living in Britain and that they intend to return home on completion of their
course.
If you require a student
entry clearance visa before entering the UK to study you will most likely
have to apply in person at the British High Commission/ Embassy. When you
arrive at the High Commission/ Embassy you should have completed an IM2A
application form, which is available at most leading travel agents or at the
High Commission/ Embassy and supporting documents related to your
application for a student visa.
British High Commission/
Consulate grant student visa on presentation of Application form duly filled
with photographs and attaching proper documents, certificates etc.
It goes without saying –
Visas are difficult but genuine and deserving students are welcome.
For further advice on
preparing documents to apply for a visa please contact our student
counsellor at UK Education Centre.
It is often observed that
most deserving students fail to get visas, as they do not know how to
present their evidence before the consulate office and due to insufficient
documentary proofs they fail to perform at the visa interview.
The Visa Officer has to be
satisfied on number of things and we at the UK Education
Centre guide, help
and assist in doing that – we even run a Mock Interview before we advice
students to go to Embassy to rule out refusals/ rejections. We also believe
that a good preparation and systematic visa file containing all the
documentation required helps a student to reply promptly and confidently at
the visa interview. |
